Just as we are all getting used to the new PayDay Filing process the IRD will be closing for a week to do a system upgrade. Plus you still have to lodge your March IR348/345 the old way unless you have been PayDay Filing for a while.
What does this mean to you if you are an employer?
Employer monthly schedules (IR348) for March 2019 are due by 20 April 2019. Please plan ahead and file before myIR becomes unavailable at 3pm on 18 April.
Since some of our key systems will be unavailable from 3pm on Thursday, 18 April to 8am on Friday, 26 April, any returns due during this period can be filed on 26 April 2019 without incurring penalties.
Remember, all employers will transition to payday filing from 1 April 2019, so this is the final employer monthly schedule you’ll send to us.
Your payroll returns (IR345, IR348) are now submitted in the My business section. You can get to your Payroll returns account by going to My business or selecting the 'Employer information (previously ir-File)' link. This is where you will complete employer tasks including employee pay details and deductions for PAYE, KiwiSaver, child support and student loans.
You can still make payments during our short close down period. Employer deductions (IR345) for March are due 20 April 2019. But because 20 April falls on Easter weekend this year, you'll have until Tuesday, 23 April to pay without incurring penalties.
Since key Inland Revenue systems will be unavailable from 3pm, 18 April to 8am, 26 April, any returns due during this period can be filed on Friday, 26 April 2019 without incurring penalties.
